I just dug out my old Busiek/Perez Avengers from the 90’s. Man, Busiek wrote like you paid him per word. I really prefer that kind of narration over decompressed storytelling and you could tell he was there for the long haul. And the Perez art! I don’t think he missed an issue in two years on the book.
I know he reads the replies here so I’d like to thank Kurt for all those great Avengers stories and comics that didn’t take five minutes to read.

One of the only surviving texts from 3rd century alchemist Zosimos of Panopolis is called "On The Sacred Letter Omega"
It was clearly a part of a whole series. One for each letter of the Greek alphabet. Later writers even reference his books on kappa and sigma.
Imagine writing a whole series, and the only one that survives is "Z is for Zebra, gods chosen beast"
Sitting here getting "you are not immune to propaganda" memed by a guy who uncritically reblogged that post alleging that every single rock band the poster dislikes is part of a global Mormon conspiracy to ideologically destabilise the American left.
It's true that you can't be "smart" once you're out of school, because "smart" is something that only exists in an academic context, but you can be clever anywhere. You won't necessarily be admired for it, but you can do it!
